Theatre and Opera House

The 1911 Sanborn shows a theatre in a small 2 story wooden opera house right on the corner. It appears that the opera house occupied the second floor, and the movie theatre the first. This must have been a very basic setup, since the first floor had previously been a grocery and dry goods. The building appears on the 1893 map. It had closed by 1914. It’s long gone, judging by the size of the tree on the lot. The space is now the side yard of a house.
