Airdome

The 1914 Sanborn shows an ‘Air Dome’ operating on the NW corner of W. Sneed Street and S. Allen Street. Number was perhaps 115 S. Allen Street. No screen is shown. There was a small one story wooden ‘Stand’ on the corner, presumably for ticket sales, and a tiny 2 story wooden structure in the center of the street side, which must have been the projection booth. By the late-1910’s or early-1920’s, a gas station had appeared on the corner, which survives today.
