Located in the East Dumbartonshire town of Kirkintilloch, to the northeast of Glasgow. The 1,000-seat Pavilion Cinema was opened by 1927. It was part of the Thomas Ormiston circuit. In March 1928 it was taken over by the Denman/Gaumont circuit. It was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system. It was closed around 1943.
The Pavilion Cinema was reopened by an independent operator around 1945 and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. The seating capacity was reduced to 825.. It was closed on 29th July 1961. It became a bingo club, but that has since closed and it has been demolished.
