The Motor Movies Drive-In was opened prior to 1955. This typical California drive-in was located on the site of what is now the South Hayward BART station.

Trains running directly behind the Hayward Drive-In frequently disrupted the movies.

This closed sometime in the mid 1960’s.

This theater is mentioned in the Aug/Sept 2010 Reminisce Magazine. In addition to that writer’s personal memories, it confirms that the site is now a BART station.

Above address is incorrect. Approx. address for this drive-in was 781 Tennyson Road. The entrance was at mission Blvd. Most of the theatre is now the BART (South Hayward) parking lot, while the screen area is now apartments. When the drive-in was open, Dixon Road hadn’t been expanded yet.
