Fiesta Drive-In

This was the original Fiesta Drive-In in El Paso, not the current location there. According to comments posted to the later version’s Cinema Treasures page, the original Fiesta Drive-In opened on February 7, 1950 It was operated by W.O. Beardon & J.B. Beeson.

It may have closed and moved to the modern Montana Avenue location in 1981.

Billboard, June 26, 1954: “Bobbie Harris, manager of the Fiesta Drive-In, El Paso, was knocked down in a clash with a picket. The drive-in was being picketed following dispute over the discharge of a projectionist.”

There are a zillion notes of drive-in burglaries, but this one was different enough to share. Motion Picture Exhibitor, April 18, 1962: “Police arrested three men and their wives looting the snack bar of the Fiesta Drive-In, El Paso, Tex., which is owned and operated by William M. Burke.”
