The Royal Filmpalast was opened in 1953 and was operated by Helmut Woeller. The architects were Paul Bode of Kassel and W. Diehl. There was a stage in front of the screen (size 10 x 4.7 metres) The B 12 projectors were by Bauer. CinemaScope was added in 1956. The cinema was closed after 1979 and was converted into office use.
