By this time, the Plaza was still a plush sub-run house, catering to a “carriage trade” of wealthy residents of the neighborhood and guests of the luxury hotels. Many of those people depended on the program guides in the New Yorker and Cue Magazines for information, which is the reason why the Plaza apologized for a last-minute hold-over that screwed up the magazine listings.
