Located in Bamber Bridge, 3 miles southeast of Preston, Lancashire. The Empire Picture Palace was opened by Richard Clifton in 1910. Seating was provided in stalls and balcony levels. by the early-1930’s it was equipped with an Electrochord sound system. It had an 18ft wide proscenium. Around 1946 it was re-named Empire Cinema and a British Acoustic(BA) sound sysyem had been installed. The Empire Cinema was still open in 1954, but had closed by 1958.

It was taken over by Smiths, dealers in electronic equipment and the building was still there in 1988. It has since been demolished and housing has been built on the site.
