On June 14, 1952, Billboard reported, “A 250-car drive-in is being built near Cranbrook, B. C., by Rex Colmer. Theater, expected to be in operation by July 15, will be the nucles (sic) of a projected $70,000 amusement center to include dance hall, cafe and playground”.
Cranbrook’s Rex Drive-In debuted in the 1956 edition of the Motion Picture Almanac’s annual drive-in list. It had a capacity of 250, owner R. W. Colmar.
