The Winona Drive-In launched four miles south of Winona in 1953. When it reopened for the 1954 season, it was upgraded and relaunched as the Sunset Drive-In operated by new owners U. Walker and J. Flowers. The Sunset Drive-In appears to have closed August 7, 1958. The theatre site became home to a mobile home dealership.

A closer address is US-51 & Gum Branch Rd, Winona, MS. The drive-in sat on the northwest corner of the intersection.

A 1960 & 1964 aerial photo shows the drive-in intact, but by 1980 it had been demolished.

Today, the property is an empty field with traces of the outline, ramps, and foundation of the concession stand/projection booth remaining.

Its Actual Grand Opening Date Is July 18th, 1953. The Winona Drive-In Theatre Is Located A Few Blocks Away From Hoover’s Feed, Farm, And Seed Store And Was Advertised On Its Grand Opening. I Can’t Find The Opening Attraction.
