Boxoffice, April 9, 1955: “The Shamrock Drive-In, the third in the northwest section of Oklahoma, staged an open house March 31 and started programs April 1. Ermel Lee O'Hern, longtime resident of Laverne, installed the theatre at a cost of more than $30,000. This is his first venture in show business. The capacity will be 200 cars, with room for an extra 50 if necessary. The all-purpose screen is 70x28 feet. The two-story concession building has a projection booth and living quarters for the manager upstairs; the bottom part houses the cafeteria-style concession stand and restrooms.”

I Can Only Find A Few Articles From The 1955-1962 Era Of This Drive-In Off Of The Newspapers Website. So There’s Not A Lot Of Information As I Posted This. They Already Had A CinemaScope Screen At The Time The Opening Was Made In 55.

A 1973 topo map shows a drive-in at the intersection of US-283 and E0200 Road, Laverne, OK.

The drive-in sat on the SW corner of the intersection. Today, General Inc. Oil Field Services occupies the property. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.

The Shamrock was owned by Mr & Mrs Ermel L O'Hern. C A Crouch purchased the Drive-In May 5, 1976. Crouch also owned the Star and El-co in Shattuck, OK. The Shamrock was located 1 mile north of town, possibly at the intersection of US 283 and E0190 Road.
