Australia Hall opened on 22nd September 1886 as a live theatre. Movie screenings started in circa 1906(1 screen). Renamed Empire Theatre in 1914. Renamed Australia Picture Theatre on 19th February 1927. 982-seats(1937 to 1939). 1,002-seats(1940 to 1943). 980-seats(1944 to 1955) when it was operated by Western Cinema Pty. Ltd. Renamed New Century in 1957. Renamed Century in (late-1950’s or early-1960’s). 1,012-seats(1956 to 1964). Closed in(circa 1964?).

Reopened as Australia Cinema in the 1970’s. 230 seats(1980’s and 1980’s). 2nd and 3rd screens opened in 1996. 658 seats(1996). Screen 4 opened in 1997. Moved next door to Metro Cinemas after the building struck by lightning on 15th February 2006. Rebuilt and reopened on 25th April 2006. Screen 5(Gold class) opened on 3rd August 2006. Closed in December 2009 and the business moved next door and renamed Odeon 5. The original building is now a church (Evangelical Church).
