Dolgarrog Cinema

Located in the village of Dolgarrog, to the south of Conwy, in the Snowdonia area of North Wales. Originally built as the Dolgarrog Assembly Hall. It was destroyed in 1925 when the Eigiau Dam burst and flooded the village on 2nd November 1925, drowning 16 villagers.

A new Dolgarrog Assembly Hall was built and opened by the Aluminium Corporation Ltd. in 1943 and this served as a community hall and cinema. All seating was on a single floor. Films were screened on Tuesday & Friday evenings and on Saturday evenings it was used as a dance hall. On Sundays it became a Sunday School. It never gets a mention in editions of Kinematograph Yearbooks. The building was standing vacant in 2011.
