Located in the Barmbek Sued district in the north of Hamburg. The Astoria Palast was opened on 14th October 1926 with 1,200-seats. It was operated by Enke. In 1928 the Henschel chain took over the operation and the cinema was re-named Schauburg Barmbek. At the same time the seating capacity was reduced to 998. In 1931 a sound system by Tobis was installed. In 1934 the cinema was re-named Schauburg Dehnheide and was operated by Schauburg Lichtspiele Theatre GmbH Romahn & Schuemenn.

In 1943 the cinema was destroyed by Allied bombs during World War II.
