Located near the Mel Khwak Market and opposite the main Yangon Central Railway Station. The Excelsior Theatre opened as a live theatre. It was re-name Waziya Cinema in 1964. From 1985 to 1999 it was again used as a live theatre. After that, it screened foreign and local movies. By 2020 it is operated by the Mingalar cinemas chain. It was listed as temporarily closed in 2023.
