Sterling Theater

Opening in July 1908 the Sterling Theater was the first dedicated movie theater in Holdrege. Movies had been screened at the Opera House. It also featured vaudeville. The Manager was Mr. Hilsabeck.

Reviewing the information on the Crescent Theatre site it is apparent the Sterling Theater was abandoned in favor of the Crescent Theatre. What is not apparent is whether the Sterling Theater became the Crescent Theatre at any time or the name only originated at the new location.

The location is now the East Avenue Pub. I have uploaded a current street image.
