Globe Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1913 map, in an oddly-shaped 4-story brick building which it shared with a Moose Lodge. This structure replaced a small wooden store sometime after 1895.

Due to the angle of the side street and existing buildings, not only was the façade very sharply angled, but the side and interior walls were slanted. The auditorium featured a generous balcony and a stage at the rear. It had closed by 1926.

By 1949, the space had been taken over by a restaurant, and probably sometime in the 1980’s it was replaced by a senior center.

Not that it likely has anything to do with the theater, but in 1917 the Moose constructed a large building at 306-308 Bedford St.
