Mr. D. Beryl “Lee” Follet opened the Star Theatre in downtown Gibsonburg in April of 1911 likely on a 15-year leasing agreement. The silent movie house operated 16 years and closed when Follet opened the Del-Lu Theatre on February 28, 1927. Follet remained in the Gibsonburg movie theatre business until selling out in 1950.
