With spaces for 1,200-cars, the Wilkes-Barre Drive-In opened on June 26th, 1955 with Victor Mature in “Violent Saturday” & James Cagney in “Runfor Cover”. It closed in 1987. Kohl’s now stands on its site. It claimed to have the largest snack bar in Pennsylvania.
