Located in Heywood, Lancashire, next to the Public Library which was built in 1905 on Market Ground, across from St. Lukes Church. The street has now been renamed L/Cpl Stephen Shaw MC Way. The Pavilion was a wooden building with a corrugated iron roof. The floor was just earth covered with sawdust. Seats at the front were deck chairs and there was standing at the back. It had opened by 1909 and gained a Cinematograph Licence in 1910. In 1912 it was renamed Borough Theatre still in use as a cinema. By 1914 it was operated by Cameron & Tweedale. It was closed at the outbreak of World War I later in 1914 and was demolished.

The site became where the War Memorial now stands.
