The Orpheum Theatre opened around April 6, 1911, when the Rigby Star reported a metallic curtain for the projection of motion pictures was installed by Charles Doman in his Orpheum Theatre. The curtain “does away with much of the flickering of the pictures, which is so hard on the eyes". In February 1911 the Star reported the Orpheum Theatre will hereafter be on the Idaho Falls circuit thus insuring even better films than before.

On March 8, 1923, it was reported George Thomas of the Royal Theatre had leased the Orpheum Theatre for two years but would keep it closed, apparently so no one else could operate it. There is no record of the Orpheum Theatre ever showing movies again.

In November 1923 E.F Ellsworth Jewelry moved into a wing of the building and wrestling matches were held in the old Orpheum Theatre.
