The theatre opened as the Pythian Theatre in 1932 seating 500. It was remodeled in 1943 and the name was changed to the Strand Thetre at that time. The Strand was operated by Affiliated Theatres of Indianapolis. There was a fire in 1957 that destroyed the Strand.
