Rialto Bananas

Built in the 30s this movie theatre was opened in a former shop and occupied the ground floor of a building.

The auditorium had a narrow shape and a retroprojection system. The screen was huge with frosted glass.

In the 80s the program was mainly karate movies but the last years the Rialto became an art movie theatre and closed around 1988.

The building was demolished but for years the right part of the auditorium’s red coloured wall could be seen on the next door building until it too was also demolished.
