The Barbizon is in the center of one of the Chinese districts of Paris. The single-balcony auditorium with a large lobby was renovated in the 70s and was running karate movies after a long period as a neighbourhood theatre.

Closing in the 80s, it was dark for 20 years and despite many attempts, was never demolished or reopened.

In 2003, an association organised performances in order to give a new life, but the future is not so sure.
