Avon Drive-In

The Avon opened in 1953, which room for about 300 cars. In 1955, it received a new CinemaScope screen. During its last years in operation, the Avon Drive-In began to alternate seasons with the indoor Avon Theatre in downtown Breese (which today functions as a live performance venue.)

In 1996, the drive-in was closed and demolished except for its marquee the next year. The property was acquired by a local newspaper, which built large metal structures on the site. The marquee is now used to advertise the newspaper.

Approx. location of this drive-in was north of this address at N 4th St & Drive in Rd on the SE corner. Cleary Building is where the theatre sat.
