They have completed some additional major renovations 2007-2010, including recreating original ceiling morals, replastering and repainting the walls and decorative featuures, new carpeting, refurbished seats, lobby renovations.

It’s not a great theater, but it’s very nice and hasn’t been overrestored, so you still feel like you’re in an old theater. The current projection/sound system is first rate; it’s a pleasure to see movies there.

Finally the restrooms are getting a makeover. Plus, the outgoing Governor (former Peekskill Mayor) just put a heafty sum into the state budget for capital improvements.

This Paramount Theatre is found in the movie “ALFIE” the 2004 verson it can be seen in passing at counter number 1:16:50 on the dvd.

This Paramount is virtually identical to the Paramount across the Hudson River in Middletown, NY. They were built simultaneously and opened within 15 days of each other in June, 1930.

The paramount was closed December 15th, 2003 through February 15th, 2004 to perform restoration on the theatre.
