No one has favorited this theater yet
Built in 1916 on Burrel Avenue, this old theatre had seating for 202. It had one show nightly at 8:00. Not much has changed over the years since it opened. It still has the red brick front trimmed with white.
The center entrance with its four original doors leads into the box office and the small lobby. The tiny auditorium and the theatre itself has been well maintained. It was closed in December 2012, but hopes to install digital projection equipment when sufficient funds are raised.

The movie poster pictured in Ken Mc’s Feb. 4th, 2006 link, appears to be that of “Gladiator”. Dating it to be at least late 1999 or 2000.
This has to be the plainest theatre facade I’ve seen to date on CT.

This is another 1987 photo. Either the photo was taken at night or an alien ship was hovering over the building. :)
What strange looking movie theatre.
Maybe it needs a Manager you would only have to work one movie a day, pretty sweet gig.
It is just such an odd looking theatre,I might put it on one of my Favorites list.
Mike, it is old, it opened in 1916, in five years it will be 100.
This is now closed, they are trying to raise money for an digital projection system. https://www.facebook.com/CooperTheatre
