Originally opened as the Bozeman Opera House in 1890, this historic venue started showing movies in 1897. It changed its name to the Municipal Theatre in March 1916 and then to Rialto in December 1921. It operated under Excellence Theatres and Carmike Cinemas from 1988 to 2005, when it closed its doors.

My company, StereoVision Systems used to supply
the Rialto with 3D projection optics during the 1980’s.

They ran the classics “House of Wax” etc. and some of
the newer titles such as “Friday the 13th, part III.

I’d like to find another theatre in Bozeman with a
silver screen so that they could offer 3D to the
community, again.

It’s been listed as open since at least 1941. The seating capacity given is 375.
