The Tampico Theatre was a nice sized house located in the Roanoke Park neighborhood. The theatre opened in 1939 seating 739. The theatre closed quietly in 1968. In April 1994 it opened as a piano bar named Missie B’s which has now developed in a gay drag bar, offering adult entertainment, plus a dance area and a leather store.

I never new that building was a movie theater – I remember it and it is still there. I wonder of the auditorium part is still standing.
