The Coliseum Theatre originally opened in 1916, located on Market Street near Redfield Street. The 1,100-seat theater was designed by the firm of Hoffman & Henon (who also designed the Globe Theatre and Crosskeys Theatre, both on the same block of Market Street). The Coliseum Theatre was renamed the Mayfair Theatre on June 7, 1950. It was closed in 1964.
