The Coliseum Theatre originally opened in 1916, located on Market Street near Redfield Street. The 1,100-seat theater was designed by the firm of Hoffman & Henon (who also designed the Globe and Crosskeys Theatres on the same block of Market Street). The Coliseum Theatre, which later was renamed the Mayfair Theatre, closed in 1964.

A Wurlitzer theater organ opus 96 style “V” was installed in the Coliseum Theater on 8/15/1916.
