I found this old popcorn bucket (which was full of dead light bulbs at the time) in the basement of The Farmingdale Theatre in 1976. After some research, I was able to determine it dated back to 1959. I think one reason it survived all those years is that it is coated with almost enough wax to make a candle, which probably kept it from getting eaten away by bugs or dampness. I still have it & use it as a small trash can in my bedroom!
