The Jerry Lewis Cinemas were “sold” as small theaters that could be operated by one person as projectionist, ticket seller/taker, and concession stand attendant! They were a franchise operation, if I remember right.
It was a short lived franchise chain that was originally scheduled to show family films.
A brief article from the Salt Lake Tribune dated March 27, 1971
“The Glendale Plaza in Salt Lake City will have a new theater devoted to the exhibition of family movies beginning April 15. Brent Hancock, former sales executive with Sears, and Lloyd Hunt, retired Richfield farmer, have bought the franchise to a Jerry Lewis Cinema that will feature G and GP rated films.
The theater will seat 300 persons and will include the latest in projection equipment and design”.
The Opening attraction at the Jerry Lewis Cinema was “Hello Dolly”.
