Eagle Theater, Pontiac, IL

The Eagle Theater, located on the corner of Plum and Madison Streets in Pontiac, first opened in 1940 with 500 seats. It closed in the 1990’s and was converted into a gym. Since then it has become a skateboard shop.

Though its Art Moderne-style marquee still is intact, the theater building looks to be quite a bit older than the marquee. Any further information on the Eagle would be appreciated.

The year given for this photo is 1996. At that time a fitness center was located in this building.
