Hey Ken! Yea im still trying here!
I was told by three separate people when i was in Swansea, one who works for Swansea City Council. Maybe it was wish full thinking on every ones behalf. I dont know if your familiar with the interior of the Albert Hall but it is stunning and should be listed.

I saw Chita Rivera at the Playhouse back in the early 90s in her fantastic show with orchestra , dancers and singers. The theatre is a perfect live venue space and all should be done to reopen this gorgeous theatre. Chitas show had the personalized title of ‘Chita In The Grove’

In the last photo posted here you can see, behind the 3 grills, where the garden cafe used to be. This was only open for a few years in the mid/late 30s. Closed permanently for the war and never reopened. In the time i worked there i saw some incredible areas that had not been seen in decades, a lot closed off due to asbestos. The public walking around see only about 50% of what is the real Dominion. Before Ticketmaster took the Upper Circle for its sales office there was a set of office like rooms built onto the back walkway of the Upper Circle that Rank used only briefly. The seating was still there but the whole area was in a very bad state of repair after 40 years of being closed off. I think i remember being told that the last time the Upper Circle was open was for a 5 concert booking of Judy Garland concerts. Working there for that period i often wondered how fantastic the place would look with the whole auditorium opened up. In the 80s it was a very worn out place to work in but still had a special grandness about it.

I went to the Golden Gate with the Royal Shakespeare Company to play ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ back in the mid 90s for 2 weeks. The area is disgusting and a shame on San Francisco for letting a central area of its city be like this. We had an armed bus taking us to and from the theatre every performance. The theatre is in dire need of renovation inside and out. It could be a real jewel like the Curran. If they are taking $3 for rennovations and your not seeing any work dont pay it!

I saw many of the Disney presentations here and the the front of the cinema looked great all dressed up with the Disney logo and castle etc. I didn’t realize it was a home to Disney for as long as 5 years. It was a great place to see any movie, as was stated above, the rake and screen were perfect. I saw my first movie in a cinema with ‘subtiles’ at the Lumiere- ‘ThE Big Blue’. London lost a great cinema when this closed. Another being the Odeon Haymarket- what were they thinking?

I saw ‘The Towering Inferno’ in my school days at The Welfare and the film, believe it or not , caught fire and we were evacuated! The Gendros Amateur company did many years of shows here before venturing to the much better equipped and professional, Grand Theatre in the city centre. Im a little unclear as to what its daily use is today?

I saw Rossanne Barr here in concert in the early 90s. Not the best theatre for that kind of show but im sure big touring musicals and movies are amazing in this beautiful auditorium.
