Here is an item from the Abilene Reporter-News in March 1945:
No major damage resulted from a fire in the projection room of the
Grand theater, 441 Walnut, Sunday about 4:30 p.m. It was the second
fire reported at the theater in three weeks.
The Grand is patronized by negroes every day during the week except
Wednesday and Sunday when Spanish films are shown for Mexican people.
The Salisbury (MD) Daily Times advertises shows at the Shore until September 1976, which would have been the end of the summer season. There are some ads in 1976 and 1977 for a flea market at the drive-in as well. The last mention is a fire reported at the Shore in November 1982.
I did not see any building at this address when I was in AC last year. Google maps will not load where I am now, so perhaps someone can take a look and see if this is in fact a parking lot.

Some discrepancy between the 1942 and 1980 photos. The earlier one may not be this El Rey.

Google has not gotten to Atlantic City yet, for reasons unknown. I will take another look when I go there later this year.
I would be curious to know where this one was. Also, I wonder if it actually opened as a film house in 1903. Seems kind of early.

I know it’s a little hard to see, so if you need any info on the other listings, let me know and I will take a look.

No fake owls on the marquee in the 1980s photos.
I think you need a password for that.

Sorry, wrong Belasco. It belongs on the Follies page, I think.
