Well, I guess the grand plans of the soon to be former owner were just too good to be true. While I certainly hope that the new owner – if one can be found – will be “theater friendly”, the brutal economics out there are not very encouraging. I guess we are in it for the long haul.
Indeed it does, albeit without Warren and Lost Memory.
Well, I guess The drama of the Ridgewood Theater continues….
Thanks.
We shall see !
larry 2, that’s what I read what I’ve typed before I hit “Submit” !
In my orevious posting, the word should be “with”, not “woth” Bad typing!
I think it is time to realize nothing will be happening woth this theater in the near future.
I walked by the Ridgewood Theatre at about 10:30 a.m. this morning, Friday July 9 2010. No change since my last visit on June 18, 2010, except that there was some stuff back between the outer lobby gate and inner lobby doors. Looked like the 1990 Rolling Stones poster was back up in the ticket booth.
Ditto, LM !
LM, I am so glad to know that you are doing well in retirement. (I should be so lucky!) Let me hope that you take advantage of “semi-retirement” status to (1) continue to peruse the movie picture pages of interest on this site and (2) provide a comment or two when you have something to contribute.
All of us “regulars” really miss you and, I am sure, hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks, Mike. Any idea why LM retired from CT ?
Thankfully, Lost Memory is not ill. No worries. I received an e-mail reply from him. He sent regards to his Cinema Treasures companions. However, he said he decided to retire from Cinema Treasures, and that maybe one day, he will come out of retirement and return.
“Won’t you come home, Lost Mem'ry, won’t you come home ?”
LM…come back where ever you are!
You and me both, Bway.
LM’s latest post on CT that I am aware of was in May 2009, about the Empire Theater in Lewiston, Maine, page # 11229 here on CT.
Lost Memory only linked to photos on other sites, and never hosted or claimed they were his.
That said, I did have his email address and tried emailing him twice since he turned up missing, and I did not get a response. The email didn’t bounce back however. In any event, it’s not a good sign, I hope he didn’t become ill.
larry2, I agree, though I hope LM has no current legal problems as a result of those old photos.
The old photo of the Majestic Theater looked like it came from his personal collection.
Tinseltoes…
Doesn’t really matter to me where the old photos came from. They made this site that much better.
Thanks, John. I love you and Bway and Lost Memory and NativeForestHiller and Panzer65 and all you regulars on CT.
I thought Warren was trying to insult me by labelling me Grover Whalen, but, when I looked up who Grover Whalen was, I saw it was really a compliment.
larry2, let’s not write off Lost Memory as lost to CT, just yet.
Lost Memory had an incredible amount of photos that were shown on this site. Do not think anyone comes near to his collection. Certainly a big loss for all concerned.
Peter, in place of Warren and LM, you may always be our Grover Whalen, whether you want to be or not. That just means that we all love you – and we do.
I hope not !
I think we need one. Maybe now that Lost Memory has left, Warren will return.
Didn’t know we HAD a reigning “maven” now, larry2 !
First Warren quit the web-site and now apparently Lost Memory?
Who is the reigning “maven” now?
