Finally found out that my Uncle Clyde’s family was in the theatre business. The old Cherokee is still standing having long since been remodeled, but you can spot it… drove by it LABOR DAY..Sure would like to get inside , bet the booth is all there…
I bet all the projection equipment was left there, it was one the few booths i never got to see inside of.SUe.
IF she has pictures I would love to have copies..
Thanks for the comments on a Great Theatre I was able to help Manage back in good old days of movies and going to the movies was an event.not like a visit to the bus stop like it is today..
Richmond County feels the MALL should be brought up to fire codes,It sets Empty.Kids are constantly getting in.I would really like to go in for my old Cinemas, for a look see,The Mold would probably kill you.News 12 went about a few weeks ago shot footage, none of my triple.
According to my Cousin, the Skyland Arts Cinema will not reopen, the lady backing the project does not have funds,My Cousin had already brought a platter over from the old CAROLINA 1 and 2, and now has to return it to storage, with Ditigal coming it never made sense. He said her popcorn poper was the size of a mircowave.
My cousin hopes to get the key from the landlord and go back in his old theatre,he feels Mold and Mildew will really be bad,he just wants to see what EPIC THEATRES took out when they closed it. Told him to take pictures.
