Bob.Most of us are interested even though we don’t live there. Please include all you can.I worked for eight years for ABC Theatres/PLITT and then GCC ;any stories would be great to read,That is what CT is all about.
On a Hot Ohio Muggy night the DENT AUTO DRIVE-In was playing Two kid flicks.“SUPERDAD” at 9:30 and “SON OF FLUBBER” at 11:25 and I guess the kids were still up again at 12:45 am.All this on August 9 1974. Glad I saved old movie pages out of newspapers.
For the record,CONSOLIDATED was located at 120 S Poplar Street.F.H.Beddingfield was the President. Many Film Bookers in Charlotte were on this street and area,I have visited it more than once.
Yes, Mike it opened in 1995,but this is one sorry little eight plex.I have been to it,looked in the glass doors and tried my best to figure out how they got eight screens in that building. There must a bunch of hundred seat houses in there. On top of that I was told the seats came out of a theatre in Charleston damaged bt Hurricane Hugo or some other coastal storm. Aiken I would think is a city that could support a larger theatre complex and i am quite surprized the great REGAL Theatre chain we hear so much about has not built a new multiplex.Heck,Greenwood,S.C. a much smaller town up the road has more screens. That is about all one needs to know on this little eight plex.Pity they tore down a pretty decent Triple Theatre in Downtown Aiken to build this next to a very small one story mall!

1995, 1990 does it matter; a majority of Aiken Moviegoers go to Augusta,Ga or Columbia,S.C. for entertainment.
