Like tag on the marquee"see a movie Tonight" don’t recall seeing such a thing on a marquee.Over powers “NETWORK"which should never happen on a marquee.
1980 picture.Peter Sellers last movie. That is a keeper. I found out the FLYNN THEATRE was operated by MAINE and NEW HAMPSHIRE THEATRES Company in 1956.
That is what going to the movies was all about.Great picture Ken Mc.Those were the good old days, but they were numbered. So much so I got out of the theatre business in 1983. I saw all these stinking Huge Multiplexes coming.
Funny how statues get missing. The MILLER theatre in Augusta had a beautiful Statue of a female in the lobby. And is now missing, heck stolen since the theatre was closed in the early 80’s. The Statue was given to the Miller from the World’s Fair and was in the lobby there until someone swiped it.
Man, you would think these Almanacs would be right on,but i am finding more and more that are wrong.

Pity there is not a lot of comments on a theatre that was built in the twenties. Joel,More history.
Thanks gallion.Jerry Lewis writes about his theatre days in “DEAN and ME” he even writes about his failed twin cinemas.
Don thanks again for your great pictures. What history.
Wouldn’t you love to have those one sheets out front of the Palace.
I sorta like the 1985 marquee better,in fact alot better, the new one is too stuffy looking. But thanks for putting it on Don.
All nice looking pictures.Looks like a nice theatre. Thanks guys.
All the pictures were nice, nice story Steve.I too, worked in an old theatre, always strange sounds, but no ghosts. No such thing. It is all in the mind.
“CASH NIGHT” on the marquee,Giving out money to see a movie.
Very small theatre.
It is a wonder there is even a theatre in that town named after a chapter in the book of mormon.I notice the small things.

I submitted the MAPLE OUTDOOR CINEMA in China. A Drive-in. It should be in newest theatres still if you guys want to read about it.
Nice Twin Theatre, but it should have stayed with one screen.
Also a theatre like this needs a lot more writing done on the history and theatre stories from employees and patrons.
