Do you recall seeing any other theatre coverage on any other networks other than MSNBC?

Bryan: Your July 29th 2004 post doesn’t show the auditorium, lobby and the grand staircase. Please advise. Thanks.

Conrad Schmitt: Thank and I will be visiting Albany and this theatre in October! I recently found out through a technical director that the Schmitt Studios were involved with the Palace Theatre in Canton Ohio in regards to painting their stage curtain mural!

I decided to revisit this link and now recall the sad photo of the balcony with parking lot below! So very sad for the citizens of Lansing! I used to have a college roommate from Lansing so perhaps I should contact her to ‘pick her brain’!

What’s the current status of this atmospheric theatre in Kenosha WI?

I can’t imagine turning a Lamb atmospheric (or any atmospheric) into a 4 screen venue!

“….demolished in 1972 to make way for a shopping mall that never got built.” So sad, Reading!

“The Capitol was razed in 1986 to make room for a parking lot.” Even in NE this happens!! Maybe ‘lostmemory’ can supply CT with a photo(s) of this former theatre!

Does anyone know if this theatre sustained any Katrina damage?

Patsy commented about Avalon Atmospheric Theater on Sep 21, 2005 at 5:39 pm

Jim: When I posted the above comments I hadn’t read the June 15th newspaper article. I would love to see an interior photo so perhaps ‘lostmemory’ will provide one!

Jim: You being in the Milwaukee area makes me ask the following question……do you and/or any local preservation groups plan to save this atmospheric? It’s not an Eberson atmospheric, but an atmospheric none the less and worth saving!

Yes, larger and breathtaking…..a must-see, in person someday!

Can anyone tell us the condition of this theatre in Jackson MS after Hurricane Katrina?

Chas: I thought this reverse design was very rare, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, afterall.

Patsy
Patsy commented about Morrison Theatre on Sep 20, 2005 at 10:13 am

There were other theatres in the Town of Alliance in 1950.

Columbia Theatre, 436 E. Columbia Street 782 seats
Mt. Union Theatre, 1745 S. Union Avenue 932 seats
Strand Theatre, 239 E. Main Street 632 seats

Having recently visited Alliance Ohio these above theatres including the Morrison are gone, except for the art deco Mt. Union Theatre which still remains and is near the college.

Chuck: Thanks for this MSNBC post and I’m sorry that I missed THAT broadcast!! So sad to read that the water line was at the top of the seats about half way up from the stage!
