I certainly appreciated UNION PROJECTIONISTS in my day, took alot of stress off of running a theatre. Now managers do everything for still low pay.Glad I got out in 1983.
I am still checking to see if FORT GORDON Has a theatre such as this,I got the SIGNAL the newspaper of Fort Gordon the other day didn’t spot any type of theatre times or an ad. I will keep looking.
August 1 1977 and DANIEL VILLAGE TWIN is still running “SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT” and picks up from NATIONAL HILLS Disney’s “HERBIE GOES TO MONTE CARLO” two car flicks at the twin.
August 1 1977 and i know these aren’t in order, its when i find the ads!

"THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT"
"DAY OF THE ANIMALS"
"FANTASTIC ANIMATION FESTIVAL”
Still surprizing all the local Theatre folks,“STAR WARS” on August 1 1977 is still going strong at this little twin theatre. It is a wonder they never thought to Bicycle the print to the other screen as well.I mean at this time some forgetable Richard Harris movie was playing called “ORCA”.Still on the ad,NO PASSES. I don’t recall WEIS Theatres ever giving alot of passes out,One reason why ABC and Georgia Theatres really never cared about this South Augusta Twin. Our Chain and Georgia theatres always took care of employees at each theatre. Weis would not.SHow times for “STAR WARS” were 2:25,4:30,7:10 and 9:35. Sadly,“ORCA” would leave Weis in three days and turn up at my theatre Columbia 1 and 2 Theatres.Clear on the other side of Augusta, and we didn’t do any business either.Did watch Bo Derek get her leg bit off.
Wonder how long it will be before Carmike closes this one.I still say most of the young Fighting men and women when are off duty are not going to this ten plex, but instead the “tenPlex” in town, just to get away.
How about a shorter name.
