There used to be a building on the corner next to the 2 shops and laundomat that the theatre and gardens might have been attached to(there was signs that something was attached to the shops side of the building!). The building was demolished in 2016, and is now a small park and 2 big ad billboards as seen in the photo to the right!
Sun Pictures appears briefly at the begining of the film “Bran Nue Dae”! There has been a stage production of Bran Nue Dae at Sun Pictues! There may have been other theatre preformances(plays, mudicials etc) at Sun Pictures?
This might be the same Fly-in Drive-in mentioned briefly on page 99(chapter 10 – strange drive-in’s) of Drive-in theaters a history of their inception in 1933(Kerry Seagrave).
There is an articule about Sun Pictures in todays West Australian Newspaper(Today section – pages 1 and 7).
Maybe it was very dusty? Maybe a printing error?
Is the Thunderbird Mini building still there and used for anything? I haven’t heard of a members only theatre before!
