Robin,in that stack of material you gave me was PROMENADE stationary letter head.would you want it back just to keep.It was in Mint condition. If not you know i will take care of it. I also liked that list of things to do at opening, during the show work, and closing.Did your Mr.Anderson come up with all of that.He must have thought you all were stupid.like i said earlier,I would have lasted a week or so with him.

Well…that’s what I wanted to tell you. Robert passed away about four years ago. It was very sudden and unexpected. I would have liked to let you all know when it happened, but I had no idea how to contact any of you. He always thought so much of his Promenade crew.

There are enough clues spread on this web site for you to positively ascertain my identity :) Why not ask the bowler himself?

Robin.why won’t mister Projector reveal his name? He must have stayed too long in the booth.

Ok Mr. Projector…I just pulled out my wedding pictures… Well, I guess you’re a guy. I don’t think you’re Mickey cause you said you worked with him. That leaves 2 other guys. Adam was one…I think he was Sonia’s brother??? Or the other guy…Chris maybe???

I worked at this cinema for several years along with Mr. Mitchum, Mickey & Suzanne, Doug & Laurie, Jessica (How’s Dagwood?, stop eating the candy!), Cheryl, and the beautiful Leslie M;> I can tell you anything you want to know!!!

We had a blast! What great memories. Bowling after the mid-night movies, Thursday previews, Cobb County Police Parties, The Verdict losing sound on opening night with only ten minutes left to go, counting cups, Galaga, Mr. M’s Wedding, and my special nacho cheese recipe.
Note: we had no cash registers for the concession stand!

The theatre was always in the location that Best Buy has now, Loehmanns was a bit further south. There was a fire years ago that resulted in a rebuild of the southern end of the center, but the theatre was not damaged.

This was the movie theatre at Loehmann’s Plaza? I only have the vaguest memories of there being a theatre at the shopping center. Does anyone know when, exactly, it was an open and operating theatre? Did the old theatre make way for Best Buy, because I thought that’s where Loehmann’s was located?

It’s a shame that such a theatre rich area (this, Galleria, Akers Mill, Cobb, et cetera) now only has one functioning theatre (Parkway).

While the Promenade was still under Plitt’s control it was one of the best places in Cobb County to see a film. Thay did big business while GCC’s Akers Mill was the only competition, but fell apart with the combination of AMC’s newer Galleria 8 and the changeover to Cineplex Odeon control. It was sad to see one of the best chains in town, Plitt, taken over by such as bad operation as Cineplex. The Promenade lived a fairly short life, maybe 15 years. The equipment was later taken to the gutted Town & Country by Lefont to open the Marietta Star Cinema.
