I had completely forgotten that I had come to a taping of a game show there in the early ‘60s. No idea of the name of the game show, and I suspect with all of the TV rigging, the features of the theatre were obscured.

Jean Renoir’s landmark film masterpiece “Grand Illusion” opened here in September 1938, when the theatre was called the Filmarte. That alone would give this place significance.

The Elysee was also home to The $10/$20,000 Pyramid from 1974-1981.

One of the TV shows that ABC taped there was the late night Dick Cavett Show in the late 60’s.
