I believe the status should be changed to “Closed”. This photo is from April 2011.
This drive-in is still open. Their website says they opened in 1949.

The interior was being gutted for a church when I took this photo in April 2011.

It sounds like there was a fire — and the theatre was rebuilt in 1947

I don’t know about the performing arts thing… It reopened as a video store in 2010 with movies shown on Friday and Saturday nights.
