Thanks, Don! I will give him a call. It was my first time in Inglewood, and between the theatres and other wonderful locations to photograph I am already planning my next trip.
There are several signs on the boarded up front of the Fox, with old photos and quotes from supporters regarding the theatre. There’s also pictures of the Crest in Sacremento, which is much like the Fox and has been restored to its former beauty.
The group who is trying to preserve the theatre is asking those who are concerned for its future to leave a message at (310) 712-7049 stating why the theatre’s future is important to them.
My husband and I visited the Academy yesterday. A member of the church saw us taking pictures and introduced himself, we talked for a while about the Academy and Inglewood’s other churches. Such a pleasant encounter.
I had wanted to visit the Academy for a long, long time, and was so impressed with it. (photos to come)

I want to congratulate everyone involved with the Belasco’s absolutely stunning renovation. The theatre is lovely, and I’m excited to see how it thrives from this point.
Photographs from the LAHTF’s “All About… The Belasco” tour are in abundance on Flickr.
I must say, though I’ve only seen the theatre with one of the new vertical signs in place, that the building looks ten times better — and actually functional.
I was at the record store today and saw that the band Suicidal Tendencies were photographed standing atop the marquee for the cover of their “Lights, Camera, Revolution” album.
This is sad news. I always hoped that someone would take over the theatre to repurpose it in any way, especially in a neighborhood as neat as Clintonville.

The above link to the theatre’s website doesn’t work. Here’s the proper link: View link

Hey, Penway, it’s “achangeinscenery” from Flickr. Nice to see you on the Cinema Treasures boards!
Great news! What an accomplishment.
Congrats to Ross, Patrick, Ken, and everyone who contributes to the site. It’s a truly wonderful place!

The trees are being replaced?! I propose we all meet up and have a party once those horrible trees are gone!

Does anyone know what the floors above the UA (and the State, Palace, etc) are used for?

Hollywood90038, thank you for the interior photographs!
The Rainbow is technically part of the Fox Redlands building.

Thanks =)

It had been a while since such sadness overcame me when I visited a previously functioning theatre. What a tragedy.
