My God father(Vince Miranda) owned the Pussycat chain. I miss him very much.. i am looking for a marquee, and any photos that may be out there. i am trying to put together a collection . If you have any information ..please drop me a line.
Does anyone know what happened to the Old Pussycat marquee, or have any old photos of the theatre during the Pussycat days? My God father owned the chain and I am putting a collection of Pussycat memorabilia together. Please drop me a line if you have any info.
Actually…these are the correct names and facts. George Tate was his name…. not Gerald. He went to prison for other reasons…and the IRS is who inherrited the MIRANDA money.
Vince Miranda was my God father. He was NOT married to Rosemary Clooney!! However, he was very good friends with Rosemarie (The Dick Van Dyke Show). She was a great family friend. It was printed in some gossip rags like Rona Barrett’s that they were dating. That too is untrue.Although…they both went on the Mike Douglas show and stated otherwise.
He was a great guy , and I miss him very much.I have been putting together a collection of pussycat memorbilia…if any of you out there have any photos, letters , or even storys..Please let mr know.

I have great story about this location..I thought I would share it with ya'all.
In the early eighties the basement was rented out to a couple guys that wanted to turn it into a punk club. They did. I was with my Mom when she showed them the proporty to the guys. It was a old radio/ recording studio. It had grafette on every wall and it had the stench of mold. It was dark, dank and really a scary place…
Anyway, My Dad (Vince Miranda) loved the fact that this building was
the first high rise in Hollywood. He thought it was the coolest
building. It had a really old and beautiful elevator. I remember
riding it down to that spooky basement.
One day My Dad came home pissed as Hell. It turns out that that incredible elevator was destroyed by the punk partiers by trying to get a live cow into the basement via the antique elevator. Needless to say my Dad was forced to replace the entire thing.
My father owned the Pussycat chain. I am trying to find a old Pussycat marquee. You know..the white oval with the silouette of a Ms. Pussycat. It is rumored that is a silouette of my mom. Please< if you have any info about any of these old marquees …let me know.

Hans David used to manage this theater in the 1970s. He is still head projectionist for universal.
