The city had plans about half a year ago to do some cultural theatre there, but I think it is halted. Half of the seats have been removed and placed in the Historic Wayne Theatre and a near-by church.
Also the theatre was built on the site of Henry Ford’s frist garage. Some good pictures of the theatre and history are at http://www.detnews.com/history/michigan/
I wonder how the theatre is going to turn out now. Everything today is turned into adult movies, parking lots, or raves. Its messed, I mean build your own place to house it in, tear down a McDonald’s but don’t locate into a magnificent theatre and take away from its inner beauty. How greedy, they would rather let it rott….
Maybe we should add links search to the side so you can select it like the news or theatres. Also how about sync. with the theatres themselves? Anyways nice job.
I like the facade and marquee, new, but truely traces back to the old roots.

Such a beautiful and unique theatre. Easily one of my favorites just by looking! 2 cheers for restoration!
What a grand facade. It would have been a great theatre if still in use today.
Wow a beautiful theatre it once was.
Is there any website that they have erected?
I hope we can save this gem! Don’t let it turn into a furniture showroom!
Well it says closed to it could have been defaced, or renovated into something…
WOW, such a nice theatre! Great to see it restored

Also, the picture is on the facade, which is burned down, and what is there is a yard, but the theatre itself is still intact and we are restoring it.
Thanks for the link Bob, what a unique and nicely themed auditorium! Such a shame….
