According to the below website, The Milford Theatre at the 312 N. Main Street address was built in 1920 and closed in 1965. Seating capacity was 120. The attached articles say it opened in 1915. The name did not change from Star to Milford until 1947. So the photo I added and identified as late 30's is actually late40’s.

Just added a late `60’s poster for rock band City Zu performance at the Burien Theater. Courtesy of the City Zu Facebook page. So the Burien also featured live music back then. The band’s website has old articles and photos from the era.

This website has a September 1922 J.W. Sandison photo of the American Theatre advertising Norma Talmadge in “The Eternal Flame”. Sandison’s studio was nest door to the Liberty Theatre also in Bellingham. (Link added to the Liberty page too.)

It should also be noted that on the description of the J.W. Sandison Chaplin contest photo in the link above, it was taken November 5, 1921 not 1919 as stated in the Overview. The film was released on September 25, 1921. There is no mention of Chaplin being in the window. Sandison’s own studio was next door to the Liberty at 126 -½ W. Holly. So he was often hired to take the theatre’s PR photos.

This website had 2 J.W. Sandison photos of the Liberty Theatre. The famous 1921 shot of the Chaplin contest mentioned in the Overview. Plus a second photo from 1921 with D.W. Griffith’s “Dream Street” appearing at the Liberty.

Carrier boys from the Herald-Express posed before the Beverly Canon Theatre after they saw a special showing of the motion picture, “Kon-Tiki,” as guests of producer Sol Lesser and the manager of the theater: July 20, 1958.
