At one time there was Dutch Square Twin Theatre.Pretty nice theatres not to be a major chain. I think where this 14 screen monster is at use to be the home of anice twin theatre.
Had a friend visit the church that now uses SOUTHGATE CINEMA for a home and he went up to the booth and all the equipment was still there to show movies. I had a feeling it was still up there. It was one of the few booths in this city i never put a foot in. It was Union house for a long time. Local 518.Only one living member still around.
Walt Disney’s BLACKBEARD’S GHOST opens to nice run at Daniel Village. Most Disney product plays here with National Hills theatre picking up some releases.
Yeah, I noticed he had 510,but my book says 425.I have had CT readers tell me a good many of these books used,the parking on cars is sometimes way off.
It might just be me,but when I present a new theatre to CT readers I like to add a bit more than what was mentioned above.But that is just me. Especially if one lives in the area.
TLSLOEWS,I have read on CT where you have discussed theatres with Cliff Carson. I think it was about an Atlanta Theatre. You get a chance you outta look at his art work,plus he has a great liitle Super 8 movie about a movie theatre and two kids getting a ticket. It is on one of his Atlanta theatre sites.
NEWS FLASH,,,Drove by the old WEIS CINEMA Centre today. The huge glass that let people look into the Box office and lobby. Broaded up with Plywood. Bet those little South Augusta vandals busted the glass out.
I have some great ads if you can sweet talk Robin into putting them on. I sent quite a bit and Nick too,but like I said I don’t know what is with Nick. I know he has a aging father and a older aunt he takes care of. He has his hands full.
I will try and locate them. and mail them.Last time i drove by on I-20 i think even the concession is gone.For along time it was being used by the business there.

In 1956 it parked 400 cars and was owned by HANNA THEATRE Service.
Kaufman Drive in was owned by C.W. Wisenberg and held 600 cars.Small for Dallas area Drive-ins of 1956.

Yes, it was located on Highway one.U.S. Highway One from Maine to the Keys.

My 1956 Motion picture Almanac has it parking 525 cars and being owned in 1956 by Mallers Brothers Theatres.
